Board Game Design
Our games are designed in our Dubai-based design studio, where we follow a structured process to ensure high-quality games. In our ideation phase, we bring together ideas for interesting mechanics or themes, keeping in mind our primary target group – children in age group 3-8.
Ideation is followed by creation of a mock-up / prototype, which is as close to the final product as possible, without artwork. The key purpose of the prototype is for playtesting, which is conducted extensively with both parents and children. The prototype needs to contain all the elements of the final product, e.g. including the instructions manual, in order to simulate independent understanding of the game and its components. Playtesting will reveal if there are any gaps in the mechanics or the instructions are not properly understood, etc., and most importantly if the game is fun to play for the target audience.
With the playtesting completed and the design updated if required, it is time to prepare the game for manufacturing and commissioning of the artwork. Blue Wizard Games works closely with an international team of copywriters, illustrators and designers.
Stella Starlight®
Our main registered brand is Stella Starlight; a key thematic component for all our toys and games. The character Stella Starlight is a young girl, the leader of a group of six friends driving the narrative of the games. In most of our games, the characters are depicted through standees and children playing the games are in a sense participating in Stella Starlight adventures.
Stella Starlight is also a feature of marketing materials, and non-game content (short stories, videos, colouring books, etc.).
Publishing & Distribution
Blue Wizard Games works with China-based manufacturing partners and imports products which meet all international quality standards and safety regulations. The final product is available through online sales platforms, a dedicated web site, and brick-and-mortar retail stores. Stella Starlight products are also localized for select international markets.
